Classes 20(iii), 20(iv) and 87(i) A building unit for a wall, partition or roof or which may in itself constitute a door or window, is made by superposing a series of parallel metal bars on a second series, the bars in which are disposed in a different direction to that of the bars in the first series so that a lattice-like skeleton is formed, boards or plates or transparent sheets, for example, of synthetic resin being placed between the two series of bars and the whole being enclosed by a frame. A tilting garage door made according to the invention consists of a series of spaced vertical bars 1 on the outside of the door and a series of horizontal bars 2 on the inside, aluminium alloy sheets 3 being secured between them. Windows 4 are provided in the upper part of the door, which is surrounded by a frame 5. The frame is built up of hollow T-section members, the ends of the bars 1 and 2 and the edges of the sheets 3 being bolted to the inwardly directed webs 7 thereof. The vertical bars 1 are hollow and are provided with grooves 8 in which are located the heads of bolts 10 which pass through the sheets 3 and through the hollow square section horizontal bars 2, nuts 11 being screwed on to the bolts to hold the panel together. The glazing for each window 4 is secured by rubber strip packing 19 into a frame 16 which is held between the uppermost member 2 and a channel member 15 which is bolted to the upper web 7. A rubber draught-excluding strip 13 is held in an angle-section bar 12 which is bolted to the top and bottom members of the frame 5.
