686,052. Leno shedding mechanism. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Nov. 8, 1950 [Nov. 9, 1949], No. 27304/50. Class 142(i) Groups of shedding rings 23 for leno woven selvedges are rotated simultaneously, in half turn steps, by a shaft 24 driven through a Geneva mechanism, the slotted wheel 40 of which can be slid into the range of driving pegs 48 or 48a on oppositely-rotating gears 46, 47. A pattern mechanism, comprising a Geneva wheel 62 carrying studs 76, acts through a lever 67 to select the direction of rotation of the shedding ring, or to keep them stationary by placing the wheel 40 midway between the gears 46, 47.
