Abstract

684,915. Two-part couplings. WALSALL CONDUITS, Ltd., and COURT, R. A. B. Oct. 16, 1950 [Oct. 14, 1949], No. 26375/49. Class 38 (i). A plug-coupling body comprises a base 11 provided with a cable entry 24 trifurcating into passages 26, 27 which terminate in hexagonal or other non-circular cavities 21 to receive similarly-shaped terminal blocks 17, 18 integral with the pins 15, 16. The axes of the pins and blocks may be offset from one another. The cover 12 has correspondingly-shaped cavities 22 so that when the body is complete the terminal blocks and their cable connections are embedded therein. Projecting locating ribs 33 on the base 11 fit into recesses 32 in the cover 12 to prevent loose cable strands causing a short-circuit. The body may be moulded in synthetic resin or from hard rubber.
