Abstract

701,872. Insulators. NIELD'S PATENTS, Ltd. Feb. 6, 1953 [Feb. 6, 1952], No. 3077/52. Class 36 An insulator 5, moulded from plastic material, is provided with a ring 6 of harder material around that portion 7 of the insulator to which a conductor is attached, to prevent the conductor cutting into the insulator. The ring 6 may be of metal, porcelain or hard plastic material, and may either be embedded in the insulator or located in the bottom of the groove in which the conductor is positioned. In an insulator having more than one groove a separate ring may be provided for each groove.
