In a television receiver, in order that the sound may originate from the same position as the picture, the loud-speaker diaphragm 4 is made of a synthetic transparent material and arranged in front of the cathode-ray tube screen 3. The diaphragm is driven by magnetic system 5, 6, the edge portion within the magnetic field being metallized. The diaphragm may be tinted for colour correction of the picture and may be utilized for correction of distortion introduced by the shape of the screen.
