Abstract
680,932. Holding and picking-up tools; insulated handles. HAWLEY, J. E. June 13, 1951 [April 27, 1950], No. 10345/50. Classes 61 (i) and 61 (ii). A tool for picking up and holding asbestos mats or other plate-like articles comprises a fork-like portion having three or more prongs for engagement with the edge of the mat and a handle formed integrally with or fitted to the fork-like portion. As shown the outer prongs a, a are arched adjacent their roots at a', a<SP>1</SP> and central prong b is reversely arched at b<SP>1</SP> to accommodate the edge g of the mat. Apertures d or fins may be provided on the handle c to minimize the passage of heat.
