Abstract

678,620. Machines with permanent magnets METTOY CO., Ltd. April 10, 1951 [Jan. 12, 1950], No. 809/50. Class 35. A toy motor has a fixed cylindrical permanent magnet 1 which is so magnetized longitudinally that it has a pair of opposite poles at one end and a pair of opposite poles at the other end, but reversed with respect to the first poles. The rotor core consists of three iron elements 6 which carry coils accommodated between two discs 9, 10 of which 10 is magnetic and the whole assembly is locked by a nut 11 on a shaft 5 against a shoulder 12 provided thereon. The magnet 1 is fitted at one end with a plug 2 of non-magnetic material having a central hole in which is fitted a screw 3 pressing against a ball bearing 4. With this construction, the air gap of the magnetic circuit can be adjusted to fine limits.
