Class 29 In a refrigerator cabinet cooled by a continuous cycle absorption refrigerating system of the inert gas type having low- and high-temperature evaporator coils 11, 12 in a housing 20 disposed horizontally to divide the cabinet into upper and lower compartments of low- and high-temperature respectively, air from the lower compartment rises up the sides and enters the housing through slots 24 in the sides 17 of the housing and through the sidemost slots 23 in the bottom 22 of the housing being cooled during its passage through said sides and bottom. It then contacts the evaporator 11 and leaves the housing through the central slots 23. The evaporator 11 may be fitted with air directing members. If the evaporator 11 is heavily loaded, e.g. by the insertion of water-filled ice-trays, its temperature rises and, due to the reduced temperature difference between the evaporators, the air circulation is reduced until the evaporator 11 is less heavily loaded. Drain holes 21 are provided in the top of the housing. The bottom 22 has fins 26 flanking the slots or the slots are formed by pressed out lugs. Alternatively, or in addition to the slots 24; slots may be provided in the rear wall of the housing.
