Abstract

<PICT:0677193/IV (a)/1> In a lubricating system, a metering device A contains a socket 21 having a seat 31 upon which is received a spring - urged valve. The valve comprising a brass disc 25 to which is attached a valve-face 24 of synthetic polymerized material. The preferred valve face 24 may be made from a disc or woven glass fabric coated with white silicone rubber; nylon fabric may also be used. The silicone rubber may be applied directly to and be cured on to the brass valve disc 25, or to the valve seat 31. The valve face elements may be provided by polymerization of hydro - silicone compounds. Titanium dioxide may be used as a filler. Other low molecular weight siloxanes may be employed by themselves or in mixtures to make the valve face material.
