558,263. Valves. NAPIER & SON, Ltd., D., and GUEST, W. June 24, 1942, No. 8655. [Class 135] A spring-controlled slidable rod for locking a plug cock has its main portion C, Fig. 1, slidable through the plug, and a turned down portion C<SP>1</SP> adapted to engage the nozzle or other part of the cock body. In other forms, a nozzle sealing plug C<SP>4</SP>, Fig. 5, is provided, the rod is turnable as well as slidable, the turned down portion may engage one of a series of notches on the body or may be forked to embrace a flattened portion of the body or the rod may be slidably mounted in a handwheel.
