Class 18 Approximately semi-circular incisions a<SP>1</SP>, on the front flange of the lid of a hand carrier folding box, provide flaps b which may be pushed inwardly along transversely directed hinges b<SP>11</SP> connecting the ends of the incisions and inserted into similarly directed incisions d opposite them on the front wall of the box, to hold the lid closed. Similarly shaped flaps and incisions b<SP>1</SP>, d<SP>1</SP>, may be provided on the sides of the box. A loop of string f is passed through a slit e on the front of the lid. Folds g are provided in the sides of the lid.
