[Also in Group I] A crop loader comprises a spiked pick-up roller 20 which passes the crop between a pair of rollers 27, 28, to a rotary cutting-cylinder 38 mounted at the lower end of the inlet casing 41 of a pneumatic conveyer driven by a fan 42, the fan having a tangential outlet 44 terminating in an adjustable discharge passage 45 fitted with means for deflecting the discharged crop in various directions. The pick-up roller includes pivoted tines 22 withdrawable into a casing 23 during rotation. The lower feed roller-27 is smooth-but the upper roller 28 carries serrated ribs 32. The cutting-cylinder 38 comprises helical blades co-acting with a fixed ledger blade 37. The fan casing 41 tapers upwardly and includes an air inlet 43 which assists the upward, motion of the dropped crop. The discharge passage 45 is rotably mounted on the end 46 of the outlet 44 of the fan and carries an adjustable baffle at its rear end ror regulating the distribution of the crop over the floor of a towed trailer (not shown). The machine is supported on height-adjustable wheels and may be towed by a tractor.
