To enable the upper cylinder of a circular superposed machine to be correctly aligned and positioned with respect to the lower cylinder, the supporting collar 11 for the upper cylinder is provided with keys 14 which engage vertical grooves 15 in the outer rim 12 of the upper structure 13 of the machine, the keys 14 being supported on a rotatable ring 16, the upper edge of which is provided with depressions 18 connected by gradient 19 to its upper edge 17 so that rotation of the ring 19 causes the keys resting on its upper edge and the collar carrying the upper cylinder to be raised and lowered out of and into its operative position.
