Abstract

670,343. Folding perambulators. SUNEX, Ltd. Feb. 21, 1950 [Feb. 22, 1949], No. 4825/49. Class 108(i) A perambulator has a foldable superstructure comprising pivoted links, one pair of opposite links being rigidly joined by a transverse locking bar which co-operates with a lock on the underframe, and the links carrying the locking bar are connected to the underframe by short pivoted links sufficiently long to enable the locking bar to be disengaged from the lock. As shown the frame b which carries a depending flexible body is connected to side members a of the underframe by rear links c joined by a cross-bar e. Short links d are pivoted at f to links c and at g to members a and carry stops h to limit their movement during folding. In the erect position the bar e engages a hook o mounted on a member j which spans the members a. To collapse the framework the link c is lifted until stop h contacts the top edge of member a when the link c will be free to pivot forwardly, Fig. 3 (not shown). The look o is provided with a guide surface p which engages the bar e during erection. Specification 518,367 is referred to.
