Abstract
668,692. Rotary pumps. VOGT, A. April 28, 1950. [May 7, 1949] No. 10519/50. Class 110(ii). A two - stage pump,. preferably a vacuum pump, is provided with an eccentric ring rotor 2 which contacts stator parts 1, 4, each at one point, and carries sliding vanes 5, 6. Fluid is pumped from duct 9 and an inlet 8 to a port 10 and space 11 leading to a port 13, for further compression, and is finally discharged through a port 14 to a space 15 above an insert 12. A valve 16 between the spaces 11, 15 is open when the pump is first started up, but closes with increasing vacuum in the vessel being evacuated, the fluid then being forced through the second pumping stage. For sealing and lubrication purposes, an oil bath 20 feeds a tank 18 through a drip tube 17, the oil covering the valve 16 and also the delivery valve from the port 14. The oil passes through a port 19 into the inner pumping space. The vertical driving shaft 21 has a seal 22. The ends of the vanes are rounded off as shown. The oil in the tank 18 is heated due to friction of adjacent parts.
