Abstract

668,048. Bed-settees. CORONET SPRING WORKS, Ltd. Aug. 31, 1950. [July 5, 1950] No. 16843/50. Class 52 (ii). A bed-settee &c. comprises a fixed frame 2 and two sections hinged together at 9, the section 6 being also pivoted to the fixed frame at a point 5 intermediate of its length and normally forming the back of the settee, &c. the other section 7 is also supported, in bed position, at one end, by a two-part strut 13, 14 which is pivoted to the frame and also to the section 7 at 19 an extension 20 forming a handle whereby the strut may be collapsed to allow the arrangement to be retracted to settee position. The strut 13, 14 is provided also with a projection 16 adapted to enter a slot 17 for locking purposes and a further strut 22 is provided for supporting the section 7 the strut being pivoted to the frame at 21 and the section 7 by a pin and slot arrangement 23, 24. A further section 8 having hinged legs 12 may be provided and is adapted to fold on to the section 7 in seat position. When extended the sections are at such a height that the top of the mattress cushions'are approximately level with the top of the arm rests of the fixed frame. The sections 6, 7, 8 are provided with a transverse spring surface.
