Abstract

666,102. Lift-truck fork. WARDS WELDERS, Ltd., WARD, R., and RIDLEY, J. April 4, 1950. fSept. 27, 1949] No. 24739/49. Class 78 (iii). The fork is made of high-carbon steel plate and consists of a pair of L-shaped members, each of which consists of a web 1 to which three flanges 2 are welded at right angles. At the heel 12 blocks 13 are placed between the flanges and welded at 14 to them. The vertical member 5 is bored to receive a cylindrical bar 7. This bar is first welded to the flanges 2 and is then bored into a sleeve 8 to receive a horizontal bar 9 mounted on the lifting carriage 10. One of the three flanges may be dispensed with and the attachment means to the lifting carriage may be a hook.
