665,934. Wind-motors; centrifugal fans; gas turbine plant. ANDREAU, J. E. May 17, 1949, No. 13168/49. Classes 110(i) and 110(iii). [Also in Group XXVIII] In a wind-motor, each rotor blade 1 is hollow and of streamlined cross-section and has an outlet orifice O at its tip. The rotor is thus integral with a centrifugal fan which draws air through an air turbine 6, by way of a conduit 3a and a hollow support post 3. The turbine drives an electric generator M. Fluid-tight joints e<SP>1</SP> and e<SP>2</SP> are provided. The cross-sections of the blades increase in thickness towards the hub. The camber-to-chord ratio increases from the tips to a point midway between the axis of rotation and the tips and then decreases towards the hub. The width is substantially constant and the pitch is about 0À2.
