Abstract

664,434. Metal-working presses. CLEARING MACHINE CORPORATION Feb. 8, 1949 [June 4, 1948], No. 3414/49. Class 83 (iv). [Also in Group XXXIV] In a metal-working press having a vertically reciprocating slide member driven by a crankshaft, the crankshaft bearing assembly comprises horizontally spaced and aligned recesses in the frame of the press, an individual bearing bush in each of said recesses adapted to receive the ends of the crankshaft, and means for retaining said bearing bushes in said recesses. The ribbed and grooved bearing bushes 18 are held in semi-circular recesses 22 in the upper portions of the side members 16 of the press frame, by U-shaped bolts 26. The bushes 18 may be of other than circular cross section.
