Abstract

664,419. Fuel-injection pumps. C.A.V., Ltd. Jan. 3, 1950 [Jan 13, 1949], No. 953/49. Class 102 (i) In a fuel-injection pump of the type in which suction takes place through the inlet port or ports h that is or are closed by the piston c and the amount of fuel delivered is controlled by varying the opening of the port by the control edge g, an additional port q, acting as a throttle, is so disposed that it is partially closed by the plunger as it is closing the port or ports h. In this manner, the beginning of injection is advanced as the speed increases.
