Abstract

661,144. Artificial teeth. EGGER, L. Sept. 23, 1949 [July 6, 1946], No. 24479/49. Class 81 (ii). A polymerized plastic tooth crown is affixed to the stump of a natural tooth by a polymerizable plastic material. As shown the natural tooth 1 is suitably ground before affixing a polymerized plastic crown 2 formed with ribs 3 and provided with a neck reinforcement 4 of braided glass or cellulosic fibres by means of a polymerizable plastic filling 6. Chemical reaction binds the plastic filling and the crown inseparably together so forming a homogeneous plastic body. The crown may be of translucent material whilst the filling may be coloured to suit the colour of adjacent teeth.
