A toy construction set for building light structures from sticks comprising, metal coupling members in the form of blanks with lobes bent into sleeves into which the ends of the sticks can be frictionally secured include members having at least one sleeve and an extension which can be deformed round an intermediate portion of a stick. In the form shown in Fig. 7, a substantially square blank is formed with corner recesses 1 from which clefts 2 extend inwardly to form four lobes 4 radiating from a central connecting portion 3, which lobes are then bent to form sleeves 5, Fig. 8. Alternatively the blank may have only two or three lobes so as to form the couplings shown in Figs. 2 and 14, the latter showing also how the sleeves may be bent into other directions as desired. The set includes T-shaped blanks of which the two arms of the T-head are bent to form a sleeve 9, Fig. 11, while the stem 10 may be bent around a stick, at right angles to the sleeve. Prongs or tangs adapted to grip a soft stick may be pressed up from the sleeve-forming parts of the various blanks. The coupling members may be used to form models such as that shown in Fig. 16.
