660.244. Animal traps. BRIGHT. C. C. March 9. 1950 [March 10, 1949], No. 6572/49. Class 5(i) The spring-tensioned loop 2 of a breakback trap is held in the set position by a tooth 13 on a pivoted disc 11. A, second tooth 12 is engaged with a projection 9 on a two-armed lever 8. A link 16 extends from the bait holder 4 and ends in a hook 17, which engages the edge of a pivoted plate 14. Interference with'the bait on the holder 4 causes the hook 17 to throw the plate 14 over its dead-centre position on to the hooked end 10 of the lever 8 thereby dislodging the projection 9 from the tooth 12 and'releasing the loop 2 from the tooth 13. An upward and offset projection 22 on a transversely movable bar 20 holds the plate 14 against the hook 17 while setting the trap.
