Abstract
657,781. Dust confining in industrial processes. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIEKEN. Oct. 14, 1948, No. 26774. Convention date, Oct. 16, 1947. [Class 8(ii)] In a suction device, for the removal of noxious fumes from a melting pot 31 having a tap 19, Fig. 1, located above a tilting axis 11, 12, and comprising one or more suction casings 22, 23 extending substantially around and attached to the upper rim 18 of the furnace, each casing 22, 23 faces the furnace mouth 24, and has a throttling device, e.g. furnace lining 27, 28 and a duct 33, 34 which extends laterally in the general direction of the axis 11, 12 to terminate in a plane substantially perpendicular to the axis 11, 12 and in alignment with a separate discharge duct 42, 54. Each outlet 33, 34 has an axially adjustable flanged sleeve 35, Fig. 5, carrying a rubber fabric sealing ring 39 rubbing against a flange 43 of the aligned discharge duct. In a modification a single casing has two arms which substantially surround the furnace rim and which exhaust into a common outlet in alignment with the separate discharge duct.
