Abstract

657,284. Stud and socket fastenings. VICKERS-ARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and BURNARD, L. G. Feb. 9, 1949, No. 3543. [Class 44] In a fastening of the kind in which a stud 13 is passed through an aperture 101 in a lock plate 10 and secured by a slider 11 engaging a circumferential groove 131 in the end of the stud, the slider is actuated by a lever 12 pivotally connected thereto and acted upon by a toggle spring adapted to retain it in the locked or unlocked positions. Side cheeks 102 of the plate 10 provide a guide for the slider 11 which is of channel section and formed in the bottom with a keyhole opening 112 adapted to engage or disengage the groove 131. The lever is mounted on a pin 16 passing between the cheeks 102 and is formed with jaws 121 embracing a cross pin 17 on the slider. The spring 18 is coiled round a roller 14 at one end of the slider and rests on a roller 15 at the other end.
