Abstract

656,400. Sailing ships. LAJOINIE, P. F. M. Oct. 21, 1947, No. 28192. Convention date, June 1, 1944. [Class 115] The masts are pivoted about vertical supports 2, 3 and carry vertical portions which can be extended and rotated by power. Sails 18 of triangular form, are furled on rollers carried by yards 13, 14, neighbouring sails having their apices arranged alternately on the upper and lower yards. The standing rigging for supporting the masts is maintained in tension by hanging weights. Power for operating the mechanical controls is obtained from wind motors.
