Abstract
265,165. Soc. Franþaise Radio Electrique. Jan. 27, 1926, [Convention date]. Guy-ropes.-The yard arms 2 of a girder pole 1 have rollers 3 at their ends over which guy ropes 4 are passed, the ropes being attached at one end to the pole 1 and anchored at points 6 substantially vertically below the ends of the yard arms. The guy ropes may be passed over the ends of more than one yard arm. Additional guys 11 of ordinary type may be used. The yard arms may be inclined to the central girder pole 1 with a view to avoiding or reducing the bending strains on the yard arms. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the guys may be wound upon pulleys which are successively nearer to and further from the shaft of the girder pole, and arranged at suitable heights so that the reaction of the guy rope upon the pulley is guided in a. suitable direction such as along the axis of the yard arm, with a view to reducing the bending strain on the arms. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
