Abstract
653,720. Artificial teeth. AUSTENAL LABORATORIES, Inc. Dec. 3, 1948, Nos. 31404 and 31405. Convention dates, Dec. 24, 1947, and Aug. 28, 1948. [Class 81(ii)] Preformed tooth arches, comprising a plurality of teeth rigidly joined together, with the gingival ends of the teeth exposed for securing to a base plate, have a bracing connection between the legs of the arch, this being removed when the teeth are mounted on the base. Preferably each arch is formed with fourteen teeth and a reinforcing bridge comprising two bars 9, 10, Fig. 2, joined by a flat web 11 extends between the two rearmost molars and the two foremost bicuspids. The invention may also be applied to a complete arch made in two co-operating parts, the rear part consisting of four back teeth 15, Fig. 7, at each side and the front part consisting of a block of six teeth. The back teeth are rigidly held in their correct relation by a bridge similar to that already described, and the front section is secured to the back section by an interengaging pin 20 and recess at each side.
