Abstract

650,312. Radial-cylinder pumps. HAAHR, P. Aug. 5, 1947. No. 21174. Convention date, 'Feb. 9; 1946. [Class 102 (i)] [Also in Group XXVI] In a pump having an eccentric 4 mounted on a rotatable shaft 3 and radial cylinders each provided with a spring- loaded plunger 6 which is driven through a connecting rod 21 having a bearing face 11 engaging part of the eccentric circumference, a cup shaped cylindrical member 10 is provided for each plunger 6 and is slidably mounted in a radially extending guideway 9 coaxial with the plunger 6, the inner end of the member 10 is connected with the rod 21 and the inner end of the plunger 6 extends into the member 10 to bear upon the interior surface of the member 10. The plunger 6 having an area smaller than that of the bearing face 11 contacts the member 10 with, a spherical face 23 formed on a head 7 of greater diameter than the cylinder lining 5. The spring 8 is inserted between a shoulder 24 on the head 7 and shoulder 25 on the lining 5. The guideway 9 is a bore in the frame.
