Abstract
649,814. Rotary pumps. RAND WASHING MACHINE CORPORATION, H. J. Dec. 22, 1948, No. 33030. Convention date, Jan. 31. [Class 110(ii)] A flexible-vane pump with a concentric rotor 10 has a cam 14<SP>1</SP> the edges of which are cut obliquely 23 to be non-parallel with the rotor' axis. The vane tips progressively contact the leading edge of the cam and progressively leave the cam, the vanes being twisted longitudinally, to secure quietness of running. Each vane may be divided into portions 26a, 26b, 26c by slitting radially, the slits of a vane being staggered relative to the next vane. The vanes arc of rubber or like material.
