Abstract

648,464. Lamp-holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and WOOD, C. W. Feb. 4, 1948, No. 3286. [Class 38 (i)] A discharge lamp socket 1 having parallel slots 3 behind which contacts 4 are mounted comprises a member 5 which is rotatable with respect to the slots and which moves the contacts 4 to engage the inserted lamp pins 9 by a projection 6 thereon. The member 5 is also provided with a projection 8 which obstructs the slots by a shoulder 10, thereby preventing the accidental withdrawal of the lamp. In a modification (Figs. 4, 5, not shown), the shoulder is omitted and the projection 8 fits the slots more closely. Specification 533,132 is referred to.
