[Class 81(ii)] In an endoscope of the type described in Specification 646,022 a catheter deflector 85 is pivoted at 86 to the stem of the instrument and is disposed in the field of vision of the telescope, mechanism for pivoting the deflector comprising a block 91 longitudinally reciprocable in a housing by means of a screw 95 and having connected thereto shafts 87 which at their forward ends are connected to the deflector.
