Abstract

646,036. Cycle saddle mountings. TROXEL MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 8, 1947, No. 22143. Convention date, July 4,1939. [Class 136 (iii)] A spring assembly adapted for use in cycle and like saddle mountings comprises a coiled spring 20, a cover 24 for the lower end of the spring and means, secured to and disposed within the cover, adapted to provide a passage through which the spring may be threaded and progressively rotated and secured in any desired position within the cover. As shown, a cycle saddle frame is supported at its cantle and pommel ends by reach members 6 and a pair of laterally spaced compression springs 20 are secured at their upper ends to the underside of the cantle and of the frame. The springs 20 are attached to the reach bars by inverted dome shaped spring covers 24, curved washers 25, and bolts 11. The lowermost convolution of the spring terminates in an end 26 fitting into the groove formed between the curved washer 25 and a wall of the cover 24.
