Abstract

645,317. Pulse delaying circuits. HUGHES & SON, Ltd., H., CROWN, W. H., and WHITFIELD, H. R. June 18, 1948, No. 16509. [Class 40 (vi)] A circuit for generating a short output pulse a predetermined time after the commencement of an input voltage variation comprises a pulse generator valve circuit which is normally inoperative and to which is applied a first voltage derived from the input voltage to render the generator operative at a predetermined time and a second voltage also derived from the input voltage which renders the generator inoperative after it has generated a single output pulse. In the Figure, valve V1 is connected in a blocking oscillator circuit to generate narrow pulses having a repetition rate which is considerably higher than the input voltage variations which are applied at terminal 8. Valve V1 is normally cut-off by the bias voltage at the junction of resistors 16, 17. The positive going input voltage variation is applied to valve V2 which has both anode and cathode circuit loads. The values of the cathode coupling circuit 15, 5 are such that a predetermined time after the commencement of the input voltage variation valve V1 is rendered operative. The anode coupling circuit 13, 14 is such that after the valve V1 has generated a single output pulse the valve is cut-off at the suppressor grid and oscillations cease until the next input voltage variation commences.
