[Class 100 (i)] A sheet - registering mechanism which is described in connection with a sheet-feeding mechanism as in Specification 628,996 from which the present application is divided, is constructed with a feed chain 17 fitted with sheet stops 16, Fig. 1, which register the sheets prior to passage to a timing cylinder 11. The stops are constructed as shown in Fig. 2 of a link member 101, which supports a bracket 104 provided with a sheet stop 106 and an inclined guide bar 107, and a link member 108, which supports a second sheet guide finger 112 forming with the bracket 104 a pocket which ensures engagement of the front edges of sheets with the stop 106. The sheets are advanced to the chain 17 by conveyers moving faster than the chains. As the link 108 passes over the sprocket 41, the sheet is freed from the action of the guide 112.
