[Class 44] [Also in Groups XXIX and XXXVII] An operating handle or member of a switch, valve or other device having a detent for releasably holding it in position is provided with means arranged to receive a locking device which will obstruct movement of the detent to release the handle or other part. As shown, the switch handle 10 is adapted to be held in operative or off positions by a detent comprising a spring-loaded plunger 16, the upper end of which projects into a transverse bore 17 in the handle, and the locking device consists of a padlock 19 the shackle 18 of which is passed through the bore 17 to prevent movement of the plunger 16 and consequent movement of the handle.
