Abstract

638,177. Ladders. LOFT LADDERS, Ltd. July 29, 1947, No. 20494. [Class 20 (ii)] The stowing of a loft ladder out of the way in the loft is controlled by two radius rods 2, 10 pivoted at 4, 11 respectively to the floor of the loft and connected to two angles of a triangular member 3, 8, 12 connected at the other angle 6 to the ladder 7. In the first part of the upward movement of the ladder, the triangle pivots about the axis through the pivot 11 under the control of the link 10 and in the second part of the movement the triangle pivots about the axis through the pivot 4 under the control of the link 2. The ladder is also guided by rollers 14 and has a lower section 13. Specification 392,940 is referred to.
