637,004. Wire-cutters. OORTGIJSEN, J. March 18, 1948, Nos. 8094 and 8095. Convention dates, April 2, 1947, and Feb. 17, 1948. [Class 61 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXII and XXXVI] A tool for inserting an electrical conductor 69 into a slit in a flat terminal 65 is of scissors-like form and comprises two pivoted jaws 62, 63. The jaw 62 has a slot 64 which receives the terminal and at the same time presses the conductor into the slit therein. The jaws are then closed to cut off the superfluous conductor. The part 67 of the jaw 62 may be omitted so that the jaw 63 co-operates directly with the terminal to cut off the conductor. The jaws may be adjustable to accommodate different' sizes of terminal. The invention may be applied to the securing of the insulation of a conductor where electrical contact is not desired.
