Abstract

633,226. Expanding bracelets for watches and the like. HEARTBEAT MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and STUBBINGS, W. K. Jan 30, 1948, No. 2745. [Class 43] In an expanding bracelet of the type comprising a flat coiled wire spring 1 having a clip or hook 2 at each end for engaging a watch bar or the like, each hook has a plug 3 which is pushed into the end of the coiled spring, a cross bar 5 being threaded transversely through the spring and attached to a convolution 6 thereof to form an abutment for the inner end 7 of the plug. The hooks 2 are of sheet metal, the plugs 3 being integral therewith and shaped to be push fits in the end of the spring 1. The ends of the bar 5 are bent round the convolution 6 e.g. by pliers, one end being preferably preformed into a hook in readiness for engaging the wire.
