Abstract

631,186. Vacuum motors. O'SHEI, W. E. Nov. 8, 1946, No. 33218. [Class 122(iii)] A suction motor comprises a pair of suction chambers 38, 39 each having a wall thereof constituted by a flexible diaphragm 36, 37 the diaphragms being interconnected by a coupling member 34 arranged externally of the chambers so that the diaphragms move together. A valve mechanism is provided which is actuated by the coupling member 34 meshing with a motor drive pinion 35, for alternately connecting the chambers to the source of suction and to atmosphere to drive the motor. In a modification the chambers are adjacent and the coupling member extends around the outside of the casing. Specification 557,232 is referred to.
