Abstract

630,575. Anchors. DANFORTH, R. S. Jan. 6, 1947, No. 455. [Class 113 (i)] In an anchor with a pair of flukes 14, a crown 12 associated with the after end of the flukes has plates 15 sloping upwardly and rearwardly from the fluke faces beyond the flukes and terminating substantially parallel to the plane of the flukes, the plate portions of the crown being joined by spacers 22 and the stock 13 of the anchor being mounted in said spacers and pivotally supporting the flukes at the after end of the shank 10. The forward end of the shank has an elongated aperture 16 so that the eye end of a shackle can be inserted and the shackle pin inserted in the shackle eye-ends to join the shank directly to a chain link. Stops 18 are provided for limiting the swinging movement of the shank relative to the flukes. The flukes may be fabricated from a beam having a web and flange. The Specification gives the proportions and angles for the various components.
