Abstract
627,081. Indicating location of vehicles. CINEMA-TELEVISION, Ltd., and WEST, S. S. Feb. 6, 1947, No. 3606. [Class 37] [Also in Group XXXVIII] In a system in which the presence of a vehicle at a particular part of e.g. a runway on an airfield is signalled to a central point by the modification, due to the presence of the vehicle, of the coupling between a secondary loop 3 and an exciting current, the loops 3 at the respective parts of the runway are connected over filters 4 with individual frequency bands and a common transmission line 5 to a number of indicators 8 responsive to characteristic frequencies. The loops 3 may be excited by individual loops and oscillators or, as shown, by a common loop 1 connected either to a generator 6, the fre. quency of which is varied cyclically through the whole range of the signalling frequencies, or to a number of generators of different frequencies. Several separate systems may be used for covering a long runway.
