Abstract
627,065. Radial cylinder pumps. TRAPP, G. J. Jan. 3, 1947, No. 256. [Class 102(i)] In a radial cylinder pump the pistons 14 are actuated by an eccentric ring 16 or directly by a crank or eccentric which controls a concentric surface shoes 15 each of the latter having a convex surface 57 which contacts a concave surface 56 on the piston to transmit the pumping thrust, and a pair of concave surfaces 59, Fig. 2, which contact convex surfaces 58 on the piston to take the return thrust, the shoes being held in position by retaining rings 55. In another embodiment the upper surface of the' shoes is made concave and contacts a corresponding convex surface on the piston. Further embodiments are described in which the pistons are actuated by an external track.
