[Class 65 (i)] The invention relates to a system for closing hydraulically the hopper doors of dredgers, the doors being retained in the closed position by locking means such that the hydraulic pressure may thereafter be shut off. The said system comprises a main control valve body a provided with valves b<SP>1</SP> and c<SP>1</SP> adapted respectively to admit and exhaust hydraulic fluid to and from the ram cylinder, a low-pressure relief valve i adapted to blow if the pressure safe for closing the unloaded doors is exceeded, and an auxiliary valve h adapted tc isolate the low-pressure valve so that high pressure may be applied to the closed doors, prior to the latter being opened, to permit the operation or removal of the locking means. The invention consists in loading the auxiliary valve in such manner that it is normally open and must be manually held in the closed position when it is necessary to isolate the relief valve, the auxiliary valve opening automatically when released. The loading is effected by means of a spring k. The pressure for unlocking is controlled by a high-pressure relief valve g.
