623,704. Making spiral fasteners for documents. SCHIFFERLI, W. May 15,1947, No. 13135. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] In a machine for producing spiral fastenings with cranked coils for securing documents, the coil is positioned by a stop 23 with screw adjustment 24 on combs 3, 4. The comb 4 is adjustable transversely of the coil from a position determined by a stop screw 12 by an eccentric 16 actuated by a hand-lever, and the comb 3 is moved obliquely to the axis of the coil by eccentric means actuated by a handlever to form crank bends in the lower parts of the helix. A presser for the coil is actuated by an eccentric from a pedal.
