Abstract
622,541. Cow milkers. FARM EQUIPMENT CO.. Ltd.. and HUNWICK, L. W. March 22, 1947, No. 7906. [Class 84] A pulsator for a milking-machine comprises a circular fixed block A having formed on the flat upper surface concentric with a tubular member B, projecting upwardly from the block centre, a groove D and a port G arranged outside the groove and connected to the side of the block by a passage A. The tubular member B is connected at its outer end to a vacuum sphere and at its inner end to a groove by a plugged passage E. On this upper surface a valve member J rotates about the tubular member and has formed in its lower surface two separate grooves M, N arranged in the same circumferential line which is coincident with the port G in the fixed block A. One of these two grooves N is formed with a lateral extension n which overlaps the groove D in the fixed block while the other groove is connected to the atmosphere so that as the valve member revolves the port G is alternately subjected to vacuum and atmospheric pressure. In the example shown, two diametrically opposite ports G are disclosed, each being connected by a passageway to the side of the block.
