620,822. Bushings; power factor measurements. MAASS, H. F., and FERGUSON, PAILIN. Ltd. Jan. 27, 1947, No. 2551. [Classes 36 and 37] In a high voltage apparatus in which the insulating material 1 separating two electrodes 2, 3, has a semi-conducting coating, a test electrode 4 is provided embedded beneath the surface of the bushing 1 adjacent to one of the electrodes 2. For test purposes a lead 5 is carried through an insulating bushing in the flange 2. In normal use the lead 5 is connected to the earthed flange 2.
