Abstract

618,182. Ventilators. CARRIER ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and MILLS, A. W. Oct. 30, 1946, No. 32292. [Class 137] A ventilator comprises a casing 4 having a peripheral air outlet aperture 5, a deflecter plate 10 hinged at 12 to a rotatable supporting element 9, and means 16 for moving the plate 10 and rotating the element 9 for controlling the volume and direction of the issuing air respectively. In the form shown, the plate 10 is resiliently supported by a plunger 16 axially adjustable in a bearing 17 and held in position by a spring-pressed ball 20 engaging indentations 21. The bearing 17 is fixed to the element 9 which can thus be rotated by turning the plunger handle 24 the flange 9a sliding between the parts 8, 11 carried by the casing 4. An electric heater 27 may be provided.
