Abstract

616,335. Two-part couplings; lamp-holders. LAPCO SOC. ANON. Feb. 5, 1943, No. 1973. Convention date, Jan. 9, 1942. [Class 38 (i)] In a connection device, a hollow strut 11 is fixed to the sleeve 9 by an assembly nut 41 which is screwed to the sleeve and bears on a rim of the strut 11. The strut 11 has two notches engaging with two projections on the sleeve 9 and a projection engaging with a notch in the protective ring 8, so that the strut, sleeve and ring form one unit. The sleeve 9, Fig. 4, has a groove 34 formed between two projecting rims 32, 33. A circular spring clip 36 with a depending portion 38 is placed in the groove 34, so that when the part 38 is in a slot 35 in the rim 33, its lower end engages a notch 31 on the periphery of a nut 40, thereby locking devices 60 and 61 together, the nut 40 being freely rotatable on the former and screwed to the latter. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 refers to Specification 576,443. This reference does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
