[Class 135] A detachable cover for domestic and other water taps comprises two parts B, B<1> which embrace the main body A of the tap including the spout, these parts being secured together at the bottom by a nut C<1> and at the top by a castellated collar C enclosed by a two-piece spindle cover D, D<1> on which a cap E for the handle A<1> is screwed. The part B<1> of the cover for the tap body A is open at the bottom so that it can be placed over the tap inlet. The castellated collar C has projections c engaging recesses b, and has a gap in the back to allow it to be passed over the tap spindle A<2>. The spindle cover parts D, D<1> are threaded at d<2> to engage screw-threaded parts within the cap E. Wedges F of compressed fibre or hard rubber are arranged between the cap E and the tap handle A<1>. Split rubber rings may be arranged between the tap body and its cover. A locating projection d and a recess d<1> are formed on the parts D, D<1> respectively.
